Surprise of the Sea 2
San Pedro, California. It was one of those shoots where the sky first looked disappointing. It was looking too cloudy for any type of sunset to happen. The sun made a very brief appearance through an opening in the clouds at the horizon, then the clouds began to take on color. With a few minutes, the sky became amazing with color. Some of the most amazing sunsets happen after the sun has dropped below the horizon. I used a 3 stop Singh-Ray reverse graduated neutral density filter to prevent over exposure of the sky. Only post-processing was to adjust exposure a little and a little sharpening of foreground rocks.
