Pheasant Coucal
This one is for Tammy Espino. This bird lives around the timber mill where Tony works, around here they are called Bush Pheasants. The Pheasant Coucal is the only Australian Cuckoo to build it's own nest & that's usually on the ground. They are Sedentary birds. He was spreading his wings getting the last bit of sun for the day. Lens aperture F/5, shutter speed 1/251sec, focal length 76mm, ISO 400, taken at 4pm.

Gosh Chris, I have never seen a Pheasant Coucal before, fancy it being a Cuckoo. I love your framing effect! ~Pat

I'm pleased to be able to show you this beauty. He seems to have been around the mill for some time now.

Wow, I've never seen a bird that looks like that. Great capture. I'm also very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Thanks you for the comment on my dad's picture and for letting me know that it gets easier with time. It meant a lot to me.
