Love this pic...also took a look at your gallery and think you are doing a great job. (are you sure you need this class??) I really enjoy the way you have framed this, as well as several others...would love to know how you have done this??

  Carolyn,
thanks for the nice words!
Yes I do need this and possibly other courses...what you have seen are only my best shots I can assure you that they aren't always this nice, besides most of the times I spend hours trying to fix this (lucky) shots in PS....
and because many people asked me the same question (Tracy, Bob and others) for what concerns my framing technique (I am not sure I am the only one who ever used this), it is a very simple procedure that anyone who is a little familiar with PS can do.
Here is how it works:
this will work better if your subject is in focus against a not sharp background, also there must be a little extra room around the subject.
there are several ways to achieve the same result....
What you do is to create second layer on top of the original photo, on which you draw the so called frame and fill it with a solid color (black usually works best) Notice that the frame must cover some part of the subject in order to work. now you add on this same layer, a layer mask and select the paintbrush and the black paint and start drawing on the frame which will reveal the underneath photo.
If you are not confortable using the layer mask you can simply use the eraser and erase the part of the frame that cover the subject.
I hope I was clear enough to be of some help.

I would like to see others using this technique.
