Can You Tell What These Are?
On Nature Walks In The
CANADIAN ROCKIES
!!! I Often Encounter These!!!

If you guessed
"MUSHROOMS"
You Are Right!

Squirrels and Chipmunks are so busy this time of year in the woods.
They gather mushrooms from all over and run them up the trees and hide them.

They OFTEN nestle them into branches that the scavenger birds can't get at so
they are safe in their winter spots for
"survival eating".

Canadian winters are long and cold.
These mushrooms are a true life source for our little friends.

Unique and a grand find you have captured.

No rain in the desert for us, does that mean I have to go back in the rain. LOL

What a great find, Laura! I've never seen them up in a tree before. Maybe somebody should alert the squirrels in our neck of the woods -- they're missing out on a great treat! ;-)

Wow, wonderful find! The habit of these creatures is where the expression "squirrel away" probably comes from and is sure is a reminder for us with the kind of economy we have today. This rendition is very clear with sharp and clean details. Nice work Laura.
