Gorgeous shot Albert!!! I love the intensity of the first eagle, how the eagles are spaced in a diagonal line, and the shallow depth of field works really well. Great job and congrats on your POTD. You really deserve it for this one.

Thank you all for the great comments on this picture. Learning about this honor was a pleasant surprise upon return from camping and shooting in the White Mountains in New Hampshire last week. The shot was taken on a trip to Alaska where I spend a week just shooting bald eagles. I literally crawled slowly on my belly to get close enough for this shot -- a moment I will always remember.

Thank you all very much. I just returned from a week of shooting so this make for a great surprise to return home to. I will always remember the day I shot this as I slowing crawled on my belly to get close to get this shot in the dead of the Alaska winter. Really paid off. Thanks again everyone

Hi Albert. I want to congratulate you on your gorgeous winner.

I believe this might have been taken in Homer. My favorite spot on the whole earth. I lived in AK for 38 years, and spent all my holidays on the Homer beach, until we moved to Alabama in 1994. I sure miss it.
