Farewell Polly

  Farewell Polly
Farewell Polly
Today we lost a family friend, Polly. About 25 years ago we rescued Polly from a pack of dogs, she lived in our sunroom after that for 20 years. Entertaining us by calling the cats, then biting them, sneaking up behind us on the lounge, then biting us, hiding behind the doors, then biting us... you get the theme here, there was a lot of biting in our friendship. She then moved out to bigger quarters, to our daughter's yard into this outdoor area with lots of friends dropping in. She also then turned into a HE, outdoors does this to you at times. Polly will be missed by us all. Lens aperture F/3, shutter speed 1/39sec, focal length 8mm.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your long time companion, Chris! She was beautiful! Her colouring was gorgeous ... and that hairdo! What style! Sounds like you had a love/hate relationship going on there with all that biting! Fantastic capture of your lovely friend! You'll always remember her from this picture! :)
One question though, when you say she turned into a HE, do you mean she turned male? ... or became High Efficiency? I'm a little confused by that remark. :)

Thanks for your comments on Polly, she was just playful I think...after she snuck up & bit us, she laughed. We always thought she was a girl but the vet assured us she was really a boy.

A sad story but a wonderful capture of Polly, Chris! You have to be into pain and noise if you want a galah for a pet...LOL!!!

Chris, So sorry to hear about Polly, he was beautiful. This is a gorgeous photo of him, I know your pain, I lost a pet Bluejay back in 2003, I had him 18 1/2 years, and not having any children, he was my child. I miss him very much. Linda

Great shot of Polly Chris .. he lived a good age! Funny story too .. I don't know about galahs but I was bitten by my uncle's parrot when I was little and got a nasty whitlow from it .. since then I've kept my distance ~ lol!

Thank you all for your kind words. Old Poll will be missed especially when we are out doing yard work or having a bar-b-q.
