The Courage of Manifest Destiny

The Courage of Manifest Destiny
The Courage of Manifest Destiny
My artistic rendition of a full scale bronze sculpture in front of a museum/visitor's center in Santa Fe NM.

The weather fit perfectly with the 'feel' of the scene, but it has taken me a long time to decide how I wanted to best interpret my sense of it. It is truly an image illustrating the strength of the heritage to which we belong.

Canon EOS Rebel, shutter 1/60sec, f/5.0, ISO 400, focal length 24.0mm.

Great shot and effects ! But Manifest Destiny also killed the Native Americans in the process .I had a history class called Manifest Destiny and did a paper on Sitting Bull .

Thank you, Usman & Joan. I love doing the oob effect but it takes me a LONG time to get them JUST right SO, I sincerely appreciate your comments and support.

Joan, I am sorry if I hit a sensitive area with you here. My image is NOT meant as a political statement in ANY way OR is it meant to negate the atrocities that occurred during that period in history.

My image shows only one tiny piece of a very large picture, to which we all do belong, and the courage, as well as the heroism, it took to get us to the now.

Was it all good? IS it all good today? Definitely not... But, again, my image reflects but a moment in time... a brief moment in which to remember there were many heroes, many victims, and that not everyone was guilty of the nightmares left in the wake of westward expansion.

Please forgive me if you felt my image insensitive in any way. Thanks again, JudyAnn
