I absolutely love your panoramas, Gary. This is very beautiful, and your stitches are seamless. Wish I knew how this was done.

So lovely with the cool, serene blue tones and reflections, Gary. Nicely contrasted with the darker diagonal lines of trees and rocks on either side!

Wow! guess I must have done something right with this one :-) Thank you all for your very kind comments! Cathy, I've been printing mine on an Epson 2200, with 13-inch roll paper (Epson Premium Luster is my favorite). I use the Epson high quality ink so they shouldn't deteriorate in sunlight. I've printed a few of them at 12" by as much as 44," and they look very nice matted and framed.

Su; I'm glad you found my pano, its always a pleasure to hear from you :-) Thank you for the enthusiastic review!Loren; Thank you! I think it's more a matter of lots of practice rather than a gift. The expansive scenery here just begs for a panorama viewpoint so I end up shootng LOTS of them. If you do something often enough you're bound to get it right eventually :-)

Absolutely beautiful pano, Gary. I really like it. Your Epson gives you good prints, huh? How much does it cost (paper and ink) to print an 8 x 10 on your Epson? A 12 x 44? Great work!

Thanks, Chad :-) The Epson gives very good prints but the tiny ink cartridges don't last very long on the big panoramas. I haven't used the Epson long enough to get a handle on the average costs. Its probably somewhere between $8 & $10 for a 12x44 pano though. The high quality roll paper alone is approx. $1.30/ft. I don't know about the 8.5x11 as I generally print that size on my HP.

Gary:With regard to the "tiny epson cartridges", I believe that Pantone has a retrofit for certain Epson printers that utilizes Pantone ink formulations that are compatible with the Epson printer. The ink source is high capacity "tanks", and the colors would no doubt be in line with the color standards which Pantone is known for. I believe this setup is geared toward the printing industry, where a pre-press department could produce a "match print" which would be identical to output from a press. Our particular hobby would benefit from having the printer pull from bulk tanks of ink versus expensive little ink cartridges. Food for thought! Loren Roque

Loren, Thanks for the info. I've been researching a bulk ink delivery systems for the Epson 2200 and have found two of them. I went to the Pantone web site and couldn't find any reference to bulk ink systems, although they do provide replacement cartridges for the Epson. The best system appears to be Lyson's "Cave Print" bulk delivery system. They have archival dye based inks that are supposed to be equivalent to Epson's ink. The only problem is that the systems I've found are all priced very nearly as much as the printer ($450 +/-). If I should start selling enough prints I could justify it, but I'm not quite there yet :-)

Hmmm......maybe that "Cave Print" system was the one. Somewhere there was a reference to Pantone, perhaps that the output from that Cave Print system accurately represented Pantone colors? Anyway it is nice to have alternatives to the little ink cartridges, although the initial start-up costs are $$$$.

Why thanks, Max :-) Unfortunately it will have to be a sunrise, as this view is looking almost directly East. You can be sure that if I catch a good one from this location I'll most certainly enter it!
