Hi Nadya,I wish our wilderness preserve to the west our city was that beautiful.Gorgeous capture,my friend.Our wilderness preserve is really small,it's only 493,000 acres!!!!!!

The official name of this wildlife preserve is the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. It extends from Minnesota down through southwest Wisconsin and includes parts of eastern Iowa as well as northern Illinois as well as portions of Missouri. It was founded single-handedly by a Mr. Wil Dilg ... he was a sports writer! And an avid fisherman who wanted to ensure the continued existence of the Mississippi River's ecosystem (not a word he would have used back in 1920.) When he heard of plans to drain the wetlands, he petitioned Congress to declare the area a Refuge - and succeeded. "Thank you, Mr. Dilg!"

Good to know one person really CAN make a major difference in the world!
