Fuyu Persimmons

  Fuyu Persimmons
Fuyu Persimmons
edited copy of p1190941
These persimmons grew on a tree in my mother-in-law's yard in central Georgia. I placed them in a white bowl on top of a piece of white felt, while trying to learn how to take high key photos. I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how the image might have been improved.
Camera was hand held and set on normal program. No flash, only the natural light in my sunroom. 16.2 mm, 1/50, f/3.6, ISO 100
Post editing done with Picasa 3: added fill light, removed some of the blemishes on the fruit, cropped to an 8x10

Wonderful composition and color on this still life, Johnnie Ann! I was just introduced to the concept of "high key" today so I'm not sure I'm the right one to critique it, but I will say the different tones of white play up the lucious colors of the persimmons beautifully.

Thank you, Martha! I'm also just learning about high key. I found some beautiful photos on this BP page, as well as links to some helpful articles: http://www.betterphoto.com/searchResults.php Even though I've viewed the photos and read many of those articles, I'm still a bit confused. So, if you come across additional info, please do share the links with me.
