Mitch, this looks like water spilled on a thick glass table top underneath which a dark paper with something glowing red is projected. Thats the best I could think of. IT IS INDEED LOVELY. UB.

OK, I guess it's time to say what it is. It's a crop from an old slide from a time when I was experimenting with setups like this. It's corn syrup on a sheet of glass and the background is paper--I had one sheet of red paper on the bottom and cut the green sheet in a wavy pattern and separated the two pieces and placed them quite a ways down from the glass so as to throw them out of focus. Lit with a couple of photo floods. The only things I did here were to clean up some of the slide scan stuff and a couple of distracting thingees, crop, and boost the color some.
