Saving from JPEG to TIFF

Hi All! I'm just checking to make sure I'm correct. I "now" know that every time I edit a JPEG file and save it to file the pic loses some detail. So now I'm saving in TIFF. However, if I open one of my JPEG files, edit it, and save it as a TIFF..can I then re-open it, edit it, and save again without losing any more detail? Whew..that was long winded but I hope you got the gist of my question! Thanks all!

Your right, because the tiff will not apply compression when you save.
