Photography Question

CS airtistic filters

This photo was taken late in the evening using ISO 800, 5.6, 1/500 so I could hand-hold a 400mm lens. The background blurred nicely but contained a lot of noise. That, and the fact the green leaves were soft made me think the print looked like it was done in colored pencil. I then thought of using Photoshop's pastel filter on rough burlap as a background. I played around with it for a little while and this is what turned out. What do you think? Would you have done it any differently? I'd like your feedback. Thanks in advance for any help.
