LCD screen has gone grey My LCD screen on my powershot S30 has suddenly gone grey. This happened after the door was half open in the camera case. The battery however was still charging. The pictures are fine but can not use menu or anything else because the screen no longer works, any ideas ? Help, here in Northern Japan no stores for help.

Hi Susan. Sounds like you have a fairly serious electronics problem, certainly nothing you will be able to fix yourself. Before you run off to find the 'local' repair chaps, try taking out the battery (and the memory backup battery if the camera has one), go and have a coffee (or a Sake??), put it all back together and see what happens, it is possible that you managed to turn off the LCD accidentally, pulling the batteries should reset any odd changes you may have made.
