Photography Question

Joann Cablas

Lens Choice

I like to photograph: travel, closeups, portraits, candid people shots.
I want to purchase one lens at this time to handle my type of shooting.
I am looking at the following lenses and would like some input on which one might best suit my immediate needs.
1) The newest release: Sigma 24-135mm D f2.8-4.5 aspherical IF Pro Lens
2) Nikon 24-120 f3.5-5.6G ED-IF-AF-S VR Zoom
3) Nikon 24-85mm f2.8-4.0 IF D-AF Auto Focus Lens w/macro

Thank you,
Joey

This is just my 2 cents.

I do pretty much the same kind of photography as you and I will opt for the Nikon 24-120 f3.5-5.6 ... VR. It has a moderate zoom range and only 2/3 stop slower than the other 2. But if you can afford the VR feature, go for it. This feature is extremely useful if you do not have a tripod around (or allowed) in low light situation. For close up, I bring along a set of close up lens. Hope this helps.
