i have bought a canon 3000N, but as far as I read, it is an amateur camera. I am interested in landscape photography.is this camera capable to give really good photos, landscape photos, or shall I excange it with a camera that has higher ''AF'' number .......thanks

What makes it an "amateur" camera is mostly its cheap build. Technique (use a tripod) and good lenses count far more with respect to photo quality than the camera body.

What is a "higher AF number"? If you mean a greater number of autofocus sensors or evaluative meter segments, forget it. The 3000N introduced in 1995 has better autofocus and the same evaluative metering than the 1988 top of the line EOS 630.

Sorry, minor correction: 3000N was introduced in 2002, not 1995, though it is based largely on prior models.

  Hello William.

I've got a couple of "Pro" level 35mm cameras and Medium Format cameras. Heck, recently I invested in a Large Format camera and lenses too. Do you know how many good to great landscape photos these cameras will take? ZERO, NADA, ZILCH!!! It's not the camera that matters...it's the photographer! If you've got an eye that can distinguise between a bad landscape and a good landscape image then, you can use a one time use point and shoot and get a money maker. Don't worry about your camera...it's just fine. As Jon mentioned, your lenses are more important second to your eye.
