How to shoot lightning

When I recieved my dads old Kodak Rangefinder camera last year and found out I could shoot lightning with it, I was thrilled. I took some shots and was able to capture the lightning but the exposures were all wrong. Does anyone have any tips on this subject?

Hey thanks John. It's about time for thunderstorm season here and I'm ready to give it another shot. I have your website book marked so I can refer back to it. I also printed some of the info and put it in my camera bag. Again...thanks and happy shooting!!!

  No problem...
We usually get big storms here in Texas. Our storm season is just starting. I've really just started on my site. It's going a little slow since I've been getting some paying photo jobs lately (finally)... 8-)

I'm hoping to add more content like this in the future.
