The Beginning Photography course The course starting in January and ending in March is full. When will the next one start? Is there an alternative beginner course I can take instead? I've just purchased an slr camera with 2 lenses and want to learn to use them...with guidance from a photographer.

Karen, I believe the next courses will begin about a week or two after the others end in March. If I were you I would get a good 'beginner' how to photo book. I recommend Bryan Peterson's book Understanding Exposure. That is the book that taught me. I would take each chapter as an assignment and make your own assignments. This will give you more that enough to do until March, and by then you will be very familiar with your camera and the very different perspectives that your lenses have to offer. If you can't find Bryan's book then browse the shelves at the book store for any books that are authored by the instructors from betterphoto. Have fun,
