how to shoot at night


 
 
I've been trying my hand at night photography. it's been hit or miss eighter they come out over or under exposed. is there any formula I can use?
I'm shooting with a manual camera (richo) using a 28 to 105 lens 2.8 using the bulb setting. Can anyone there help me Pleasssssse?

  Hi Genie. I happen to be very familiar with the shot you took down at the bkln bridge. It is one of my favorite places to shoot at night. I have the luxury of a built in meter and I find that I get consistently good exposure if I shoot at somewhere between 8-12 seconds. Hope that helps. P.S.
