Tamron 28-300 XR Ultra Zoom Lens

I have NIKON N80 camera and would like to purchase a lens for it.
I was thinking of buying a new Tamron 28-300 XR Ultra Zoom Lens (F/3.5-6.3). Is this a good lense as far as the sharpness of the picture? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I have used the Tamron 28-200/3.8-5.6 Asph. XR IF Macro on my Canon F1000n and I like it so much. It is sharp and LIGHT. I am sure the 28-300 will not disappoint you. I am enclosing a few photos I took using the 28-200 lens ...

Sorry. My mistake on the second photo. Fanning Island is part of the Republic of Kiribati, South of Hawaii.

  Andy,

Thank you for your input. Great job on taking those pictures. I especially like the "Fanning Island" & "Feberges".
