I have the same lens and I've noticed that my pictures don't have a sharp focus. I focus directly on the face and everytime I get my film back something in the image is soft, most often the face. Also, it does hunt for focus a lot. I have the Nikon F100 (purchased used 4 months ago) and I've held down the lock AF button, as was suggested to me, but the images still seem soft. My plan is to do an experiment with the Tamron and my manual lenses to see what could be wrong. I'm thinking part of it could be camera shake, but I never seemed to have that problem with old manual that I had for over 20 years. Don't have any help for you, but I just wanted you to know that I also have the same problem. Angie

Thanks Angie I found a solution. Ditched the lens!! Bought a Nikon 28-200 EF lens. Amazing clarity compared to the Tamron. Dr Krishna
