Canon Eos 3 Focusing points not working properly

My Canon Eos 3 (in AF mode) focusing point range doesn't seem to be working properly. I can not get individual focusing points to light up in the screen. Only two light up to the right of center, but I can't get any other points to light up. I have tried messing with the custom functions I have tried deleting all custom functions, I have also tried rematching screen settings. None of these has worked.I bought the camera brand new, about 3 years ago. The focusing points used to work, properly, when I try to caliberate, only one square should light up to look at, this doesn't work. Unfortunately it has been like this for awhile now, I wasn't sure at first there was really something wrong, then I finally sat down one day to figure out if I could fix it that I realized I couldn't and that there really must be something wrong with it. As far as I can tell the only problem with the camera is the focusing point selection, in manual selection mode and calibrated mode (as I can't seem to calibrate it, which is not as imporant as the manual selection mode not working in my opinion). Camera is set for me to select the point, it is in ONE SHOT mode not AI SERVO. The two lenses that I use are Canon EF 28-80mm 1:3.5-5.6 and Canon EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6. I don't think this is part of the problem as the manual selection mode worked with these lenses in the past. I hope this is enough information if not let me know, and I'll try to give more. Any help would be appreciated.
