Polarizers on a digital camera?

Hello all,

I recently purchased a FujiFilm FinePix 3800 digital camera, and it happened to come with a lens hood that allowsy ou to use your own filters as long as they are 55mm.

My question is would a polarizer give the same color benefits to a digital photograph that it would for a film photograph?

  Yes.
I'm not familiar with the particulars of the FinePix 3800. I think it has passive AF (through the picture taking lens like an SLR) and you should use a circular polarizer. If it is active AF that has AF sensors separate from the picture taking lens, then you can use either linear or circular polarizers.

Chris, I bought a polarizer for my digital camera and I am very happy with the color benefits
