lens help

I am doing a wedding and I know I need to purchase a lens for up close detail for pictures like the rings on their hands etc. What type of lens should I consider looking at?

Are these going to be candid shots or posed? If they are candid then a long lens (200mm for example) would be handy. If they are posed then you can get away with a shorter macro lens like a 105mm.

Well these picture I was looking at doing were posed pictures of the hand with their rings on. Would I just use my standard lens? What about the beading work on a dress would my 200mm zoom work for that?

Any lens will work. It depends on what you want the images to look like. You know your lenses and you know what look you want.
