purple spots sometimes I get a purple spot on my pictures I'm sure it has something to do with the sun. what type of filter do I need to get.

The spots are probably the effects of lens flare, internal reflections off the several glass elements and aperture of the lens. Often a filter simply adds more glass surfaces to make the condition worse. What you should use is a lens hood that shields the front of the lens from stray light.
