Shadows

How do I eliminate shadows behind a subject's head? I have an off-the camera bracket and I am unable to bounce my flash do to a high church ceiling.

Try using a Lumiquest soft box on your flash. They velcro on, and soften the shadows. They run about $20.00, and will improve a lot of your pictures. You might also try a slave flash fired by your existing flash, behind the subject to fill in the shadow area.

The simplest method is to move your subject away from the background. Your bracket should place your flash above the camera so that shadows will fall down behind your subjects. Moving them away from walls or other background objects will help to eliminate the shadows too. Judith's suggestions are good as well.
