my photos are exporting in a gif file from photosh


my new question is that ive saved the photos in a tiff file, but when I go to export the pictues it ends up in a gif file....i have no idea what that means or how to correct it....the gif file is created by photoshop....please help.....

  This is not good. A gif has only 256 colors. It's good for logos, simple grahics or thumbnails. When this happens, you're losing a lot of color information. When you're done editing the image, be sure it's a TIF you're saving in that file. Then go to that file and SAVE AS to send them anywhere else.

To some people, exporting means posting to a web page. Something is going on in this exporting process. Is it asking at the end what format you want? If you're exporting to the web, make it a JPEG. It will then ask you how far you want to compress it, and you can preview it.
