It looks good, although it does appear to be somewhat underexposed. I like the composition and the model is beautiful. Why does it need a title?

I thought it looked under exposed too...It was done with a digi cam. I set it on a tri-pod and used only natural light....the flash made it way WAY to bright! I put that about the title because when you upload a photo it asks for one... I have the Photo Studio 2000 but I am not good at using it and didnt want to try to lighten the pic...thought I might ruin it. And many Thanks for the yummy compliment! C. :o)

The shot just needs 1/2-1 stop more exposure to be good. Also, it might help to place a reflector near the camera to open the shadows a touch.

Ok.....I think I understand reflectors...A mirror or something to reflect the light ....something like fill lighting..... The stop thingy
This thing (the cam) doesn't even have a macro mode. I dont like using the 2x zoom because it ruins the quality of the pics. So all my close ups are really close up! But anywhooos, If you could please explain the stop thing and how I might possibly produce the effect on my camera (if possible) I would greatly appreciate it! C. :o)

Well, I don't know anything about your camera. If you can't control the aperture and shutter speed you might see if there is an exposure compensation function. Or you might look for an exposure lock function so you can meter a portion of the scene and hold that exposure for the shot. If you really want to learn about photography I suggest getting a used film camera with manual settings.

To be quite honest.....Until recently, I thought I knew! I worked in a retail studio for over 2 years. The certified me as a master photographer. But all they taught me when I first started was posing and cropping, and of course how to sell the portraits for way more than the cost of printing them. But now, I am realizinf there is alot more to this. Alot more than posing and cropping. I have a couple of film cameras....the one that I couls have adjusted shutter speeds and all that was an older SLR. It died. One of the gear thingys in the self timer is broke and it made the shutter release button stick and I cant get it repaired right now. I do have a point and shoot camera. Autofocus and all that. I havent used it much. So maybe I will read the manual on that and try with that also. But for right now I am stuck with Digi pics. But it is still fun learning :o)

This is too funny. Before I read any of the other responses, I thought "underexposed" as the title. Then everyone was mentioning "underexposure". Anyway, I am also new to playing with different lighting conditions and like what you're after. If you first get a light reading off the face, either with the camera metering or handheld meter, and them recompose the shot, maybe you'll get a better exposure. I'm guessing you used a tripod. If not, you should. Good luck.

Jeff and Tony :o) I was hitting every option I could find on the menu display of the camera...I finally found the EV Compensate. So I am going to try the same shot later today....I will post the photo when I get finished :o) Thanks again for your advice! C.
