One day in Amsterdam

I might be able to hitch a ride from London to Amsterdam next weekend. So need your advice on the places to see and visit specially wrt photography. Basically where to go and shoot in a day in Amsterdam. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in Advance.

Only one day? Take a canal tour to get a feel for the city. Short, fun and easy access for shooting fascinating roofs as you glide by the rows and rows of townhouses.

For something different, try Rembrandt's house (Rembrandthuis), full of little things to photograph along with the wonderful feeling of being in his studio. (Go early to avoid crowds.) They have demonstrations of etching and colour mixing, too.

Afterwards, a walk along the canals nearby, and maybe the open market. Lots of little places to have a coffee or a snack while people watching. Houseboats galore. An incredible number of bicycles with their colourful loads.

Away from the wall of humanity on the Dam (the main street), you'll find no shortage of stuff to capture. If all that outdoors is too much, there's always the Rijksmuseum (cameras OK, no flash or tripods) if the line isn't too long.

Have a good trip, Usman -- here's wishing you great light!

Many Thanks Kay for your response. Regret a delayed response as I just reached back home yesterday. Things turned much different than what I planned for, as I couldn't even visit Amsterdam and had to stay the whole week in London and its suburbs.

But I have noted your useful suggestions for any future travel to Holland. Thanks again.

Usman.

I recommend the Leidesplein district.. There are nice performers in the square, The Riks Museum nearby, a life size chess set in the courtyard,
& Definitely go to a Flea market .. You might see anything & meet some
interesting people as well..

Feel the beats of My Khe at Benz Karaoke, a standout on My Khe Beach. Crafted by nightlife specialists, it welcomes groups with spacious rooms. With reservations flying off the shelves, secure your spot for a night filled with beats in Danang. 다낭밤문화
