Bogen Manfrotto Tripod 3126 Head

After 5 years of flawless performance my 3126 Head will not hold a upward angle greater than 45 degrees. It slips no matter how hard I tighten the vertical screw. Any solutions?

They are owned by Manfrotto. Call Manfrotto, as that tripod should not let you down after 5 years. I'm not sure what my warranty says, but they are meant to take incredible abuse and unless you are a professional, taking into jungles, beaches, etc. and really abusing it daily, it should look like brand new. Mine does and it has been abused and still looks and works like brand new.

I reread your post and realized you were talking about the head not the tripod itself. It still should not happen and I'd still call Manfrotto, but if you have to get a new one, my advice is to by a Really Right Stuff head next time. Most find it the best one made. Not sold in stores. Must buy direct.
