BP courses

Is BP still offering all the diverse list of 4- and 8- weeks courses or it is now just limited to the 4 courses listed in the 'Courses' page of the site?

Beatriz, we'll need BP to chime in. But I would assume it's just the four courses they've listed on their "Courses" tab. That's not to say they won't swap out courses, and durations, over the next few months.

I'm also not seeing any references to the instructors that used to be there. Don't know what all this means, but it's curious.

I've been wondering the same thing. Where did all the classes go?

I wonder if they are revamping the online interactive courses. I had some in my "wish list" of classes. Oh, well.....

I think what you're seeing is the fundamentally changed nature of the new BP... years ago, the focus was on offering learning via a rich variety of classes taught by more than a dozen different instructors. (And yes, we were told those instructors were involved in contest judging, giving a certain cache and validity to the contest results.)
I believe as part of the new BP2.0, Jim has opted to pare all of that down completely, in changing what BP is for him as a business (as the owner of that business). The 4 classes listed are all his own video content. Additionally, the "flavor" of BP2.0 now is far more about being a place to share and display your photos, or browse other photos for inspiration, with much less business-model emphasis placed on having a robust roster of varied classes as before.

Well said, and I think you're right. It's been my experience that the BP classes were truly unique as an online offering. I am sorry that I most likely won't have a chance to take many of the classes I'd been looking forward to.

Wow, what has happened? I logged in to take a course to learn my new DSLR, and there's nothing here!

I refer people here all the time for courses. Now I'm kind of embarrassed, since there are very few offerings.

So sad...

ok...so I wasn't hallucinating? There are only 4 classes now? :( I too liked the diverse offering before...and was looking forward to signing up for additional classes. Oh boy. What gives Jim?

I too came to sign up for a few more courses, but alas, there's nothing available. This version of BetterPhoto is a mere shadow of itself and no longer of interest to me. Oh well ... as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. So long BetterPhoto, it was great knowing you. :-(

Anything new about other classes that BP used to offer?

Valeriano - BP is no longer focusing on being a photography learning center. Rather, a sharing and inspiration center, with a bit of basics-learning available. I don't expect we'll see any other courses return, nor the instructors who taught them.

Pssssssst... New and improved learning options are in the works...

;-)

They had to be re-thought, to better meet market demand. But we do see a solution coming soon that will be even better than before.

Dynamic!

Interactive!

Collaborating... connecting with like-minded photography enthusiasts from around the world.

Stay tuned...

I have been away for a while and I wanted to take a course this summer and well it looks like there is not much offered anymore. I have always referred people to better photo to find courses on using their new camera.

This was a great resource, Jims classes are good and I have all of them. So I guess I will review the classes this summer.

I have given a few BP gift cards to young photography enthusiasts and the classes are gone. I also had a few classes on my wish list. It's pretty disappointing and sad that we're left in the dark as to what's going on.
