Photography Question

canon EOS-1D X

I was browsing the canon page for a new camera and came across the new camera EOS-1D X. Does anyone have anything to report about it? My main subjects are wildlife, landscapes, pets and an occasional portrait. Any suggestion's?

It is going to cost around $6800 dollars. And it may not be on the market until approx. September. Unless you are a professional that needs all of the bells and whistles I suggest you check out the 60D, 5D II, 7D, used 40D, 50D or 5D.
The 1DX is going to be Canon's flagship for the next couple of years.

I currently have a 30d and I am wanting one with all of the bells and whistles. With it not coming out till Sept that will give me plenty of time to save my pennies...:-)

Hopefully you will go "test drive" the current 1D model, as well as the 5Dii (there may be a 5Diii by then) before deciding you want to spend $6800 to jump from your 30D to Canon's top-end commercial-grade camera. (If money is no object, hey, go for it! Just be aware that even a top-end camera body won't actually improve one's photography skills! ;)
The 1D is a monster camera body by comparison; it ranges about 1-2" bigger in each dimension, and is nearly twice as heavy as your 30D.

Thanks for the tip I think I will rent the bodies for a week and see what I like and go from there. I rent lens but the thought never crossed my mind to rent a body.

Bells and whistles mean more than what is on the menu. This camera has 21 buttons on the back!

But you will love the clarity from the 18MP sensor providing you expose properly.
