monitor for photo editing

does anyone work with dell U2410 or U2311 monitors? I'm considering one but not quite sure which one to pick? Parhaps even a different one all together
(within the same price range:-))
thanks for your input!

  Hello Joanna,
I am not familiar with either monitor and these may work fine. If you want high quality check out Eizo or Apple Cinema Screen monitors. I use a 24" iMac and love the monitor :)
Invest in a Color Calibration tool/software as this will keep your colors consistent for editing and for printers. I use an old Colorvision Spyder2 I bought in 2005 and its still working just fine.
Cheers,
Carlton

doug Nelson   Take a look at the NEC 221W that comes with its own calibration device. It's $600 total and it works. Go to the discussions at www.photo.net, Digital Darkroom, for comments on using it. Also, see comentary at www.shutterbug.com, especially an article by David Brooks on using this system.

When pricing other monitors, factor in the cost of the calibration device.
