  Past its Prime.

Merna this is a lovely image. My first thought is that because of the exposure it is difficult to focus on the old tractor. What would happen if you lightened up the exposure on the tractor?

WEYG club, you can also post your suggestions and comments directly to a photo (in this instance, Merna's) by clicking on her image. Then leave your comment as you usually do.

I'm not sure how to correct the lighting falling across Crystals temple and ear.
I have played around with this image in PSE6. I can successfully add a layer of hair, that I copied from another image, to fill in and conceal the harsh lighting in her hair and over her ear. But, that still leaves the harsh lighting in the temple area. I wasn't able to successfully use that same technique over the temple.
I'm open to all suggestions. Help!?!
Thanks,
Carla

Hi Carla: This is such a beautiful image of a very pretty young woman. You have captured her beauty and I understand what you’re saying about the light.
I am no expert, but this is what I would try:
Make a duplicate, and magnify the image to make it larger.
Than I would use the clone tool starting with her face, using the skin tone from her face that you would like to see on the bright skin. Adjust the size if the clone tool so that it works best for you.
When you do the hair, be sure to capture the highlights, so that you don’t make it all one color.
Repeat with the ear.
I hope this helps, Merna

X & O's This is jmo......I'm not to crazy about the angle really but I can see why you have done it......I would crop off the bottom just above the mans head bottom LHS and keeping the bar straight in the middle and maybe use some curves to tone done the flash light as its a bit harsh.

Past & Prime - Again jmo.......this image looks very busy.....I would try and blur the BG....lighten the shadows and maybe bring out the rusty colour in the tractor.....you could even add some flowers for colour in the FG.......not to sure how that would look but it could be worth a try. :-)

Hi Christine: Please forgive me, but I am little new at the business of talking about someone else's image.
First of all I would go to “view” and magnify this image to see if you can take the circles out of the existing photograph, since you mentioned that you wanted some circles for the contest. If you can do this, play with it with some of your filters and see what you can do to enhance to circles. I hope that I have been helpful to you, my good friend. Merna

I do not know what the WEYG Club is but the bottom half of the Discussion page has sections for Critique, Praise, Where am I?, Digital Art plus there are already places to post your Editors First Picks and Finalists.

Please use those sections for showing your work. Specific questions about photography belong here.

Thanks,

Lynn

  Hi Nancie.
I like this. It has the look of an oil painting, similar to the old masters...except it's new, lol.
How did you achieve this look?
Carla
