Photography Question

How to Protect Photos on a CD

Hi All,
Over the past few years, I have been thinking of doing photography as a side job. I have done some free shoots for friends' weddings, etc.
But I was wondering, how would I make a photo CD that is protected? Meaning that it is viewable but not printable.

If anyone could pass some of their know how down it would be appreciated.
Thanks!

The most easy option is to rezise them to 500px on the long side and 72dpi before burning them into a CD. I personaly do a slide show with music. All pics are numbered, and I burn it to a DVD. You can buy Power Director to do it. It is about 60 dollars, has many features and very easy to use.

You can create a password protected pdf presentation. In Bridge choose the files, go to Tools/Photoshop/Automate choose pdf presentation. Or in photoshop go to File/Automate choose pdf presentation.Make your presentation. In the save adobe pdf dialog box, choose Security. You can password protect opening the file with one password and/or ability to print and edit with an additional password.

  Connie,

One option I might suggest is to look into a program called "FlipAlbum". I do all my wedding proofing on line -- on my website, but I used to use "FlipAlbum" all the time. I is a very cool program that allows you to encrypt the CD/DVD so that it cannot be copied. It also even has an expiration period, so that after a period of time it become unusable!

God Bless,
Greg
