Leopard aftermath

I have been having some problems after I have downloaded Snow Leopard (on my Mac). I can't get my prints either from Photoshop or Lightroom to even come close to what is on the screen. They are very dark no matter what I change in the print settings, color management settings etc. I have never had this problem before & was printing just fine especially in Lightroom--what happened? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks, Joan

  Hi Joan,
I did a search for "Dark Prints Snow Leopard" and found a few links about Epson 1800 & 4800 concerning this problem. Somewhere between Snow Leopard, Photoshop, and the Epson driver, color management is broken making the prints too dark.

Are you using an Epson printer ?
I am assuming you are using a calibration system, if not - this may fix your problem. I use Spyder2 by Colorvision.
I will read some more but gives us a couple of specifics so we can narrow this down a bit :)

  Carlton,
Thanks for doing a little research for me.
Yes, I have an Epson R2400. And yes, I do use an x rite calibration system. I have not had this problem printing before. I usually print from Lightroom, but now I can not successfully print from either Lightroom or Photoshop. I now have uninstalled my printer & will install it again as per suggestion from my Epson manual. I had already re-installed it because after Snow Leopard my Epson R2400 was not mounting & I couldn't find it.

  Carlton,
My problem has been resolved!! Yay! I found a link to download a print driver on an Epson site dealing with compatibility problems with Snow Leopard. My print dialog no longer has "color management" in the drop down which I do not understand, but the color in my prints is back to normal. Thank you for your input Carlton!

Wonderful Joan,
I am glad you got this resolved. I have heard others having trouble with various things after upgrading to Snow Leopard but I have yet to run into any of these issues (knock on wood).
My biggest complaint right now is that CS3 want open the .CR2 images from my 5D Mark II - I have to convert them to .DNG first...
I dont want to upgrade to CS4 and may start using Lightroom once LR3 is released. CS3 has more than enough capability for my needs and I just upgraded my Topaz Adjust to version 4 - and I highly recommend this plugin, its the best bang for the buck and is cheap for what you get :)
Cheers,
Carlton
