Photography Question

Kathryn Wesserling

I will never shoot a wedding, BUT...

a friend asked me to take some group photos of his and bride's families (20 people?) when they come for their wedding. This will probably be the last time that all these folks will be in one place in their lifetimes, so the pressure is on. Yikes! I DON'T DO people!

I'll be shooting with Rebel XT 350 and a Canon 18-200 IS lens (and Tripod.)

The September wedding is going to be held around 500pm in SE Michigan. Hopefully, the weather will hold for outdoor shots as I have no lighting equipment (or experience with it, anyway.) And, what if we can only shoot inside?

Assuming that the ambient light will be near perfect, any suggestions as to settings that will produce fairly decent (great?) images for their memories.

I couldn't say, 'No!' (and this friend does understand my limitations and inexperience), but I do want to accomplish something special for them all.)

  Hi
I would do it, but go and do test shot.
to see what you would need, I would try using a flash as a remote.

Thanks, Linda. I've thought about crashing other weddings just to practice the outside shots, but didn't want to stress out the Pro who is working.
