How do I photograph the Northern lights

I am going to Iceland in October to photograph the northern lights. HOW? Any suggestions? I have a canon 5D Mark II.

You might try exposing similar to a fireworks show with the lens focused to infinity @ f/11 and 1/20s (with a tripod).
Then adjust from there. Hope you get some great captures :)

Go to Google, type in "Photographing the Northern Lights", and you'll get back a bunch of hits..
