lenses

I own a Sony Alpha 100 DSLR I went to the camera store where I bought it. They tell me that I can't get lenses for it anymore. Its not even 2 years old. IS that true? if not what lenses are compatable for macro photography?

No, that is not true, Paul. Sony have only last week announced the A900. The A100's big brother. So, if anything, expect MORE lenses from Sony for their Alpha range camera bodies.
And since Sony's Alpha cameras are really Minolta lenses, every Minolta A-mount lens will work on your A100. Which has Vibration Reduction built-in, so that EVERY A-mount lens works with it.
In fact, after Canon, Minolta had the largest range of lenses for SLRs in the last 30 years. Not Nikon!
So "your camera store" probably stopped (or is going to stop) carrying Sony, and they try to get you to buy another brand. By lying! I would find another camera store and spread the word about your "old" camera store lying through their teeth! They clearly deserve that.

Have fun!

Oops!
"since Sony's Alpha cameras are really Minolta lenses" should read "since Sony's Alpha cameras are really Minolta cameras".

Not true. Sony still makes lenses for the Alpha DSLRs, as does Sigma, Tamron, and Zeiss (autofocus Carl Zeiss DT and manual focus ZA line). Looking used, you can also use the autofocus Maxxum/Dynax lenses made by Konica-Minolta, Minolta, Sigma and Tamron. Your local store probably does not carry the Sony line any more.

The f/2.8 Macro lenses are very very good, regardless of maker. You can't go wrong with the Sony 100 f/2.8 Macro, or similar from Sigma (70 f/2.8 EX DG Macro or 105 f/2.8 EX DG Macro), Tamron (SP 90 f/2.8 Macro).
