Okay, I almost had to go to fight the fires in Cali, I've got two nephews in Iraq, I was ground zero when Ike was upgraded from a tropical depression to a tropical storm over dry land. two miles from me, we have homes that have spent more time under water than on dry land. You have probably offered no help. Am I right?

well! um,help with what?a local youth center? fashions for victories secret? tradegies happen,my house was struck by lighting this spring.ins ain't gonna cover it.natural,disater,and wrong coverage.so i'm gonna sit here with a box of kleenex? maybe I think you've taken the easy road that fighting fires is easy,and well,dealing with the younger generation is a bigger problem.. each day shtuff happens. sometimes ya get scars,sometimes it just takes a bandage. and I don't have the answers mark,but I do try to offer some solutions,and try not to be offended,though I do drive off the road now and then. sam

Sam, I'm sorry to hear about your house. I was just trying to offer something that is needed. I am a professional firefighter,but volunteer a lot of time to the same cause. Yes, w have been affected in some way by current situations. I don't sit back and cry. If you had ever worked a fireline on a wildland fire, you would know what true exaustion is. When your home burns to the ground, you pick what you can of the ashes and move on. I don't think that this is the time or place to argue, but let me ask you this, Sam. If you see a friends car sitting on the roadside broken down, would you stop and help, or would you drive by thinking about when your car broke down. Many friends of mine have been flooded out this year due to weather. Many could not afford, or just didn't ask for, flood insurance on their homes. We have groups going around helping with their homes. The younger generatin is not the only problem on this earth. But, maybe someday, they will be the answer.

i still pick up hitchickers mark,and yes I stop.met some pretty nice people. who do we thank,or in some cases,do thank.in some cases you turn around and no one has your back. just don't get specific.as in your job it may be life or death,yet in a milder case some die of starvation?lack of medical care..yet you and I get to make a choice. by the way,i thought my generation had the answer,but i'm not sure now we really knew the question,sam
