Does Sigma make one for the Nikon camera??? I'd call BHphoto and ask they're pretty knowledgable.

Nikon's and Sigma's autofocus teleconverters will only AF with lenses that have internal AF motors - Nikon AF-I and AF-S series, and Sigma HSM. Plus both Nikon and Sigma TCs have an extended front element that nests into the rear of a select few compatible lenses. It may not fit on the old Sigma 80-200 f/2.8.

Kenko and Tamron make high quality TCs, especially the Kenko Pro 300 series and Tamron SP series, and they do not have the extended front elements so should fit your Sigma with no problem. I don't know if their Nikon models will AF with your lens or not.

You might look used for the Nikon TC-16A, which was a 1.6x teleconverter that had its own internal autofocus so that it would AF (though with limited focus range) with manual lenses.
