Better Photography Am about to go for a beach/sea vacation to Goa .The area I am going to is supposed to have DOLPHINS. I own a Sony DSC H2 camera - could you give me some tips on how I can get really good dolphin photos - what mode and settings should I use both during Mid day and during early morning or late evening. Would also like to know what Metering, aperture, white balance modes will give me good result and best to do photo composition. In short a crash course on what to do and what not to do. I want to avoid wash outs like Photo 1 & 2 . And want to do a better work than photo 3 ( belongs to a friend) Camera details can be found on http://www.jjmehta.com/products/sonyh2.html Regards

Try getting the second edition of a pocket-sized book called "National Geographic, Photography Field Guide" by Peter Burian and Robert Caputo. It explains how to work in low light, use polarizer filters on the water, shooting at various times of day and answers your questions on composition quite nicely. I frequently recommend it to my own students. A handy reference. If you buy from BN.com (Barnes and Noble) you can probably have it by tomorrow.
