Plywood is difficult to paint and may need something to help it stand up. A sheet of 3/8" gypsum wall board cut down to 4x7 feet screwed to a 2x4 frame with wheels gives you a rolling flat that's much easier to paint because it's a smooth surface. Commercially made backgrounds are availalbe probably cheaper than you would pay for drapes. Muslins, canvas, velours, seamless paper in various colors and sizes are all available Bhphotovide.com
Take it light ;>)
