  Royce,
I have been in the same boat as you in trying to find a simple inexpensive portrait lighting set up. I came across a nifty web site that explained in detail "low budget flash lighting" for the beginner. http://www.lanset.com/rcochran/flash/
Check it out and see how it works for you. I am purchasing an umbrella, swivel clamp and electronic slave for my Sunpak flash for around $55. Good luck.

Michelle C. did you ever buy that Brisket light set If so how is working?

And if you do not mind telling me what kit did you buy I am looking to purchase some that I can travel with.
You can also e-mail me at JImagephoto@aol.com
Thanks
