How do you add a frame?

I would like to know how to add this type of framing around my photos...can anyone help me out and explain how?

Thanks!

  Tara,
I don't see an image here.

There are many ways to go about framing. Are you planning on doing it digitally? What program will you use if so?

I asume you want to use an editing program like PaintShop or Photoshop to make a frame. Both these programs have frames built in (in PSP ther=y are under the Image menu.

A "handmade" frame like the image below is easy to do using layers:

*Open a new layer on top of your image. *Draw a rectangle on it, select the centre and delete it.
*Fill the remaining portion with white (or an appropriate colour).
*Change the layer blend mode until you have the effect you want.
*Merge your layers.

Here is an example...I apologize it did not take the first time. I used CS2 at home and I am okay with the basics...I am sure it is probably quite simple..I just cannot figure it out. Thanks!
