flash metering of Canon flashes

I have Canon 580EX, Canon 420EX, and Canon MR14-EX speedlites. Either the 580 or the MR14-EX can be master units although I would prefer using the MR14-EX on my camera as a master.

My goal is to measure the light with a Sekonic Flash meter of the different flash units, in order to set accurate lighting ratios for each flash. But I do not know how to do this using Canon equipment.

I last used the Sekonic Flash meter with my manual Nikon FM3A and a Sunpak 383 flash. Both the Nikon FM3A (alike the Canon 20D) and the Sunpak 383 have a PC terminal for connection with a sync cord. I attached the sync cord to the PC terminal in my Sekonic Flash meter and to my Sunpak 383 and measured the light.

However, I don't know how to measure the light with my Canon equipment. When I did a search for PC terminal in the Canon 580EX nothing came up.

Can anyone explain how measurement can be made with my Canon flash equipment and the Sekonic light meter?

Thanks.

Does the sekonic have a non-sync mode like the minolta?
It waits for a flash to read.

Yes, it does. I had forgotten because it's been so long since I used it. That was easy.

Thank you for replying Gregory. I'll play with this for awhile and refamiliarize myself with it.

Thanks again.
