Vista help, anyone? Okay, I know that this is not a photography question nor to do with digital work at all! However, since I know that some of you folks are fairly adapt with computers and all things tech and because I am pretty desperate right now…I’m taking a chance that someone knows the answer to this problem: I have MS Vista installed on my laptop computer. I travel a lot – a whole lot – and must be able to connect to the Internet when away from my office. Every time that I connect using a public wireless access center (Hot Spot) the system initially allows me access; however, soon I get an error message saying that the web page cannot be displayed, etc. and my connection shows as local only, meaning that I cannot get online again. I’ve tried resetting my security level to the lowest possible and even reset the public/private access to private, but none of this helps. Even rebooting, rediscovering the wireless network and reconnecting does not help. Right now I’m trying to work from a hot spot in Northern Minnesota and cannot stay connected for any time at all. This happens everyplace, not just up here. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks! Irene

Work around: go back to XP. Solution: get a Mac.
