  Big mistake!

Check this out.

They pull a bait and switch on you trying to upsell you things that should be in the camera. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Get out while you can.

P.S. You should always buy from a reputable seller, especially when purchasing on line i.e. B & H Photo Video, Adorama, etc.

Just found that out. When I went to go cancel my order, they wouldn't let me. Told me I had to pay 10% of the orginal cost. When I said I wasn't going to do that they said I had to pay 25% of the orginal cost for being rude. Thank god the money that I put in the account early today hadn't gone through yet. We had to go to the bank and cancel everything. Our checkiing account, cards, etc, so they couldn't get any money. Lesson learned

Todd's advice is absolutely right on. There are a lot of sites set up for that purpose, and for cameras specifically there's also Phil Greenspun's site: http://photo.net/neighbor/view-one-about?id=2&about=Best+Price+Camera

Interestingly, one reviewer had listed Best Price Camera under "Scum of the Earth".

So Mandi, while you certainly have done just about all you can to protect yourself, you should also report their attempt to defraud you to the State of New York Attorney General Office and the consumer fraud division. If they get a number of complaints against any outfit, they send investigators and may at some point just close them down sending the owners on a vacation as well.

And if the store using the Postal Service to send their goods or further their schemes, there may also be mail fraud involved and the AG's office will gladly involve the Postal Inspectors Service in their investigation(s).

There are a number of protections afforded consumers that are automatically built in to credit cards under Federal law. Your bank or credit card company can outline them for you AND always, ALWAYS read the disclosure info that comes with the credit card BEFORE you start spending on it.

Lastly, for now, for the consumer-oriented here's an interneet buying info page link at the NY AG site you guys may find useful:
http://www.oag.state.ny.us/consumer/tips/online_buytips.html Given the time of year and all, it's a good review of buying tips and as Todd suggested always beware.
Take it light ;>)

  Mark-
Thank-you much for your input. I never thought that this would happen to me, but than again who does!!!! this was my first time trying to purchase something on-line, I've always been somewhat leary about it and I guess I found out the hard way. From now on I think that I will stick to buying things in the stores. I just don't think I'm ready to try and "risk" things ordering on-line EVER again!! A friend just introduced me to this site today. (better photo) and the feed back from everyone has been GREAT HELP!!
Thanks- Mandi
