California Wildfires

I hope someone gets pictures of the wildfires. I always have been amazed by the pictures that can come outta a wildfire. It doesnt help that I live in Pennsylvania.

  Matt,

Unfortunately, nothing good really ever comes out of these fires. I was stationed out there in the early 80's and know the Santa Ana winds and the damage the fires do. While the pictures are usually spectacular, the devastation is unforgettable. And, after the fires, once the rains come, there are landslides they have to deal with. Oh, and don't forget the earthquakes.

Maybe some genius in Congress should tell them it's their own fault for choosing to live in a dangerous place.

Sarcastically,

The fires are 5 miles from the house at this time, waiting for possible evac.
have family here that has been evacuated.
And I'm here to tell you if YOU ARE NOT WITH MEDIA,POLICE OR FIRE DEPT.
YOU DO NOT BELONG ON THE STREETS!!!!
I too would love more exciting pictures of the fire line, but this is a really state of ER.
NOT a unfortunite house fire.
FOR THOSE CONSIDERING IT, YOUR CAMERAS ARE BETTER PACKED FOR EVAC.

Thank you,
Debby

Thanks Todd, I just hope the wind and everything breaks in a positive way for all those who are affected by this. I used to live in Hermosa Beach (LA) and still have many friends in Southern Cal. I also hope everyone has protected backup for their photos.
And remember to Stop, Drop & Roll for those unfortunate ones who don't live next door to Chris :)

  hey debbie,
no one here is taking lite of this problem.you can read what you may from the posts, not the intent of the members.
so what part of the posts aren't accurate?the gulf coast, hurricanes.where you are, earthquakes and wildfires.kinda a given.oops, yeah mudslides in a rainy season.
so the initial post seemed insensitive.just walk away.yeah sure from my posts I don't.ah compassion and how we deal with it..maybe some have forgotten about new orleans and the destruction, not me. the federal goverment will help those displaced by the wildfires,as,well not the case in new orleans.hence their still living in trailers.if they were lucky and filed all applicable forms at said given times and didn't exceed the time line?
insurance companies will be excused, natural disaster.actually and really,it's not a house fire.byeeeeeeeee..nothing is covered.your policy is junk.
making lite of this was not the intent.yet the reality.3 4ths of the money for katrina relief went to administration.6 figure podunkers intent on asking for a feasibility study.
anyway debbie, the sunset even here in indiana tonight was as fire.the western sky was ablase as the rain moved out.
all are not well tonight,so I really cannot say that since I know you I wish only you well..just a slight distraction from the service member who returned from iraq with no legs from a roadside bombing?localizing compassion is a frequent trend.kinda human nature.
so,when it affects only you???not you personally debbie..a point should be made?
I have tried and been out of line.with no answers.so,with a decent understanding,i hope the losses are as minimal as possible,

Thank you to those who have wrote me and/or posted here your well wishes to everyone dealing with the fires here and now or any disaster, Support from those who share your life & intrests are so very inportant.
I was not tring to judge this post by any means.
Just asking for those who would be classified as looky loos, to think twice about thier actions.
By "not a house fire.."
I mean they have fire fighters from all over tring to get this all in hand.
And time & Time again you heard (on local news) how people who are cloging roadways just to look or watch to see how thier nieghborhood is doing, are actually in the way.
some have actually interfered with the work fire fighters are trying to do.
So many trucks, fire, police, rescue and animal services tring to do so much,
those who are "just there" are really just in the way.
and the day, the work and roads are better served by those who can get the most done.
all others, self included better serve thier community by staying at home or giving to those who need extra hands at a evac. center, care unit or animal care facility.

just my humble opinion,
Debby

I wanted to touch base, we are still supposed to stay out of the air.
But I took the boys to Burger King, other than use the stove and other utilities, here are the only "fire "pictures I have and They are inspiring!
Excuss "Evacuees" but it was out of a moving car and cute just the same.

Have a great night,
Debby
