Endless Journeys Hello, I did not fall victim to the scam, I new within the first week or so something was not right. I did not send them any money (lucky for me). I was wondering if anyone has seen the photo "untitled" a black and white of a stream. It was suppose to be in Endless Journeys. After reading everything, I do not want to spend the money to see my photo just wondering what book it might be in. Thanks in advance-----Rob

Why not make a print, hang it on your wall if you want to see your photo?

OH PLEASE! This is only the 30000000th post on this same topic! It has been beaten to death already! For the sake of all our sanity – or at least what remains of it – please, please, please, do a search for this topic before once again starting yet another thread on the same topic! How many times must this be presented before anyone will actually know that this outfit is scamming you? Jeeze…get a clue folks. Irene

Good point, I didn't notice yours Todd. I mentioned it because I checked out a bunch of forums yesterday and many were started by folks with no galleries? Are you brand new?

I took it down and deactivated it a few months ago after a member from BP stole a photo from a person on another website and claimed it as her own. After running some tests of my own, I didn't and still don't feel that BP did or is doing enough to protect our photos and they certainly didn't do anything to punish the person that stole the photo. A slap on the wrist if you will. She is still on her, as of the last time I checked, posting, getting kuddos and attaboys. Because I learned a lot from the people on this site, I try to help and pass on what I've learned to others, so I still hang around. And I am still learning and will continue to learn. To me it's kind of like flying a plane. When you think you know it all, it's time to park it and quit. There is always something new to learn.

Todd, I recently read a thread on some security issues and I've had a few myself recently, although not on BP. What a drag! Is that person still using other people's photos?

I don't know for sure; but, I kind of doubt it. She got worked over pretty good in this forum by myself and several others. Like I posted in a thread to Kirby yesterday, where there is a will there is a way. People will get them if they want them bad enough; but, there are steps to prevent it like only upload at 72 dpi so if they try to print it, it will be extremely small and if they enlarge it, it will be crap. Digimarc is another step; but, as I mentioned to Kirby, the only way to prevent them from stealing your photos off the web is not to put any on the web. So what do you do? By the way, didn't mean to highjack the thread Robert.

Susan, I should have said "make it more difficult for them" rather than "prevent it."

Ha, I played detective and read all the threads I could. I didn't know something like that had happened here. And that the thief is still on here, as jolly as she can be! I guess some folks have no shame. My apologies to Robert also, but if he does a search there is tons of info out there on the picture.com scheme. I'm really glad that I read all of those threads. Even if the effect is just becoming a little more cautious. I never marked my photos before, but I've started to now, because of a few recent experiences elsewhere that could have been worse. Not at all like Scott's. What a shame. Thanks for all the info Todd.
